What is standard Kraft gummed tape/water activated tape?
Standard Kraft gummed tape is our most classic and natural gummed paper tape. Gummed paper tape is a simple strip of long-fibre Kraft paper that has a vegetable coating solution on one side that, activated with water, adheres to paper and cardboard surfaces, fusing with them. It is the perfect seal for packaging cardboard boxes.
When we talk about standard Kraft gummed tape, we are referring to the original gummed paper tape type, which was the first and valid, at the time, as a model for all other gummed paper tape references. It differs from the reinforced models in its simplicity and the lack of any other material other than paper and vegetable glue. Continuously tested and improved, the standard Kraft gummed tape is currently the most economical, safest, and most environmentally friendly option in terms of all the variety of existing packaging seals for paper and cardboard.

Standard Kraft gummed tape range
We manufacture standard Kraft gummed tape in two formats:
- Brown/white standard unribbed Kraft gummed tape/water activated tape. - With the unmistakable matt look and shine of Kraft paper sheet as it comes out of the paper mill machine.
- Brown standard ribbed kraft gummed tape/water activated tape. - With the characteristic pattern of parallel lines, with an elaborate texture and a refined and elegant finish. It enhances the presentation of packages and is also widely use in bookbinding and fine arts.
The differences between both standard Kraft gummed tape are purely aesthetic since they share and maintain the same technical characteristics.
In accordance with the corresponding ISO standards and NFQ 15008, we manufacture standard Kraft gummed tape in different widths, from 25 to 1.230 mm, in different diameters up to 1.200 mm and weights of 60, 70 and 90 gr/m2, to fit the various carton packaging needs of our customers.
When to use Standard Kraft gummed tape/water activated tape?
Our customers use standard gummed kraft for their most common shipments in brown or white kraft cartons. The great resistance capacity of this type of seal allows them to pack weights of up to 30 kg, at a general level; but not only the weight, but also the dimensions, and various other factors intervene in the choice of standard gummed Kraft paper as the perfect and sustainable seal for cardboard boxes.
