What is gummed paper tape?
Gummed paper tape is a strip of long-fibre Kraft paper with a natural starch based adhesive solution, which, activated by water, adheres by capillarity to the cardboard boxes, forming a single, safe and resistant packaging.
What is gummed paper tape used for?
Gummed paper tape is primarily used as a secure seal for cardboard boxes in packaging, providing a strong and secure bond, perfect for shipping and industrial packaging.
It is also used in plasterboard identification, waste bags identification, in glass coating manufacturing processes, in the picture framing process and in serigraphy.
How is gummed paper tape used in packaging?
Gummed paper is used by moistening the glued surface of the paper with a dispenser and then applying it to the flaps of the package for a secure and durable seal.
What are the advantages of gummed paper tape over other packaging tapes?

What is standard Kraft gummed tape/water activated tape?
Standard kraft gummed paper tape/water activated tape is the first, most classic and natural of our gummed paper tape range: just a strip of long-fibre Kraft paper with water-activated adhesive. It has no reinforcements and is the most economical, safe and environmentally friendly option.
When to use standard Kraft gummed paper tape?
Our customers use standard gummed Kraft in their regular packaging for cardboard boxes up to approximately 25Kg, following the advice of our technical team.
What other types of gummed paper tape exist?
In addition to standard gummed Kraft in colors brown (plain or ribbed) and white, we manufacture reinforced gummed paper in brown or white and in various finishes, widths, diameters, and weights, which adapt to all the different packaging needs of each customer.
Is gummed paper tape sustainable?
Made from certified Kraft paper and natural plant-based adhesive, gummed paper tape is biodegradable, repulpable, compostable and recyclable without separating from cardboard boxes. Water activated tape is the most sustainable cardboard seal on the market.
Does gummed paper withstand extreme conditions?
Gummed paper tape is the solution for challenging applications on used cardboard and in extreme conditions of both cold and heat.
How long does gummed paper tape last?
Under normal conditions, it retains its properties for up to 20 years. But in the environment, its biodegradation time is very short: the cellulose it is made of barely lasts a year, and even less if the environment is humid and rainy.
How to store gummed paper tape correctly?
Gummed paper tape is stored in a dry place at room temperature to maintain its properties.
